The HaveYouGot Lenders Guide

If you are lending an item to anyone we recommend you follow this simple guide:
  1. Don't make your items too expensive to borrow. If the price is too high no-one will want to borrow it.
  2. Ensure any item you list on this site is in good working order.
  3. When listing an item use a good description so as other people know exactly what the item is and it's purpose. Also use appropriate search keywords that will make it easier for others to find your item when searching.
  4. Make sure the borrower is aware of any safety instructions and supply with the item any safety equipment that originally was supplied with the item.
  5. Insist on some form of proof of ID from the borrower. The id should include the borrowers name, address and phone number. Two forms of id is better than one and photo drivers license is highly recommended.
  6. haveyougot does not give your details out to the borrower. You receive an email from haveyougot when someone expresses and interest in one of your items. It is then up to you to make contact using the details given by the interested person.
